Title : Stormont Road, German Bespoke Made Handleless – A Beautiful High-End Kitchen
This high-end kitchen was installed as part of a £5’000’000 conversion to a property in Highgate North London. The kitchen was bespoke manufactured by a specialist fabricator based in Vreden-Lünten Germany. A true handle-less kitchen was created, with storage provided by 38 drawers all on Blum Servodrive.
Design driven from day one, the choice of materials brought together influences from other elements in the overall refurb design such as…..
i/ The Schottenhansen oyster oak on the floors and internal doors
ii/ The stainless steel stair handrails and light switches throughout.
iii/ The aubergine hair-on-hide at the back of the display cabinet units in the cloakroom and the study
iv/ Beige gloss lacquered doors in the kitchen helped bring these influences together in the hub of the home.
The stainless steel fronts and custom made top with sink slot together with the granite and gloss lacquer fronts. The stainless steel sink was practical and durable which followed into the utility room which also had a custom made stainless steel worktop with integrated sink.
The island contained a custom made trough sink with a hand shower, specifically for washing and preparing vegetables and fruit with a lid to bin in the drawer below.
The Rosa 30mm Blanco Granite worktop brings a lightness in colour with flecks of pink and purple tying the glass splashback and the hair on hide leather. Feature lighting was provided by under cabinet lighting accenting the aubergine glass splashback as well as LED shelf lighting hidden at the back of the glass shelves shining within the glass.
The granite is mitred to the top drawer fronts in such a way as to give the impression that the granite is only 10mm thick at the leading edge.
The appliances were a 600mm wide full height fridge and a 600mm wide full height freezer. A siemens compact combi microwave and compact steam oven. 2 Full size Kuppersbusch ovens. A Kuppersbusch induction hob with wok plate and a Fisher and Paykell double drawer dishwasher.
